The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring has been introduced, as the most intelligent twin in the 911 GT3 sports car – and the winner of the special 70 Years Porsche Australia model.
Following the unveiling of the ‘normal’ 911 GT3 in February, its sibling Tinging – officially identified by Porsche as the 911 GT3 and Touring Package – includes a bewinged’s scream flat-six model and a chassis produced in a race with a subtle look led by the absence of a swan wing. -neck back.
The rear of the car is the same 4.0-liter engine naturally as flat as the standard GT3, sending 375kW and 470Nm to the rear wheels with a six-speed transmission as usual or, firstly, a seven-speed ‘PDK’ automatic grip as an option .
Porsche does not quote the 0-100km / h acceleration time of Porsche 911 GT3 Touring, although its equivalent of 1418kg (manual) and 1435kg (PDK auto) on the winged Porsche 911 GT3 suggest no change from its 3.4 (auto) second or 3.9 times per second (manual).
The top speed should also be the same or slightly better than the Porsche 911 GT3’s 318km / h (auto) and 320km / h (manual). As before, the engine has revived all the way to 9000rpm.
Separating the GT3 Touring from a sibling already featured outside is the absence of a ‘swan-neck’ rear wing, which has replaced it with a low-end but unobtrusive rear spoiler shared with a standard 911 Carrera model.
Other variations such as standard ones include anodized aluminum straps on side windows and silver-plated stripping tips – although the ‘Touring Package in Black’ option you can choose will give you a black satin color – as well as a black wood with a lower front (instead of black), and a ” TT3 touring ‘badge on the rear engine cover.
Benefits of GT3 Touring from the same track-honed chassis as the standard Porsche 911 GT3, which includes a wishbone front suspension based on brand racing cars for the first time, as well as front and front fascias aimed at keeping the car adhered to the road.
At the corners of the car, the wheels 20 inches in front and 21 inches of mixed locks fill the arches, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (10mm wider than the ones coming out of the GT3) and hide metal or carbon-ceramic binding can keep.
Canceling the weight loss associated with the new Porsche 911 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 Touring body, larger wheels, and augmented technology are the preferred weight-saving features, including a front-mounted carbon-fiber frontal bonnet, lightweight glass windows, 10kg-lighter sports system finish, and assembly alloy wheels.
Inside, the steering wheel, gear lever, center console cover, door arms and door handles are all cut in black – only for GT3 Touring – while the seats are wrapped in a combination of black leather and black fabric.
Embossed Porsche crests are mounted on the headrests, while the sill door plates and dashboard pockets are made of black bronze aluminum.
Touring shares a collection of 10.9-inch infotainment sensors and a semi-digital cluster with a standard GT3, the last of which can be converted to a ‘track screen’ by pressing a button, limiting left and right exposure fatigue and oil pressure, cooling temperature, temperature fuel and other on-track driving details.
The ‘Mode’ switch on the steering wheel allows drivers to choose between standard mode, Sport and Track drive.
Typical features for Australia-based GT3 Touring models include LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS), automatic side-view mirrors, metal paint, front-axle lift system, rear parkAssist, rear camera, adjustment kit wheel, and digital radio.
All GT3 Touring buyers will have Porsche Design’s special chronograph option, with colors and elements inspired by the above-mentioned road car.
2022 Porsche 911 GT3 price and specs
Unveiled next to the 911 GT3 Touring is a special model designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Porsche Australian brand: the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition.
Developed in partnership with the Porsche Style Porsche design team, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur divisionization and Porsche Cars Australia, the 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition is inspired by one of the first two Porsche 356 cars imported to Australia in 1951, with unique internal and external brightness.
CarAdvice understands about 25 specimens of the special model – available through automatic manual transmission and PDK – will be distributed through the Australian Porsche vendor network, with the first delivery to begin by the end of 2021.
Outside, the 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition has been completed in a state-of-the-art, state-of-the-art 356’s Fish Silver Gray, combined with other special touches including black silver alloy wheels with exterior Fish Silver Gray Metallic, B-pillar badging, and brake cylinders blacks.

The dashboard and center console decoration areas are painted on Fish Silver Gray Metallic, and the ’70 ‘mark is embedded in the center console storage hole, while the Crayon Prayche white color adorns the 12-stroke marker, gear shift pattern display, and contrasting text on it. the whole room.

That’s all beyond the typical features offered by ‘base’ 911 GT3 Touring.
The 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition is the first special edition of Porsche Australia, and the first market-specific program based on the 911 GT model. The size of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur also prevents it from building more than one special program almost every two years – making this only Touring Australia to be celebrated.
“Specialization and customization have been similar to Porsche for decades. It is fitting that this special model has special features that link back to one of the first two Porsche cars imported to Australia by Norman Hamilton 70 years ago,” said Sam Curtis, Executive Director and CEO of Porsche Cars Australia.

Manual 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Won’t Be Sold in California
If you are a Porschephile on the sunny west coast, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that there is a new Porsche 911 GT3 Touring potential with the automatic transmission of PDK – a decision Porsche says has been made to satisfy customer needs. Bad news? PDK will be the only transfer route to it as well as to the standard GT3 in the state of California. Outside of California, consumers will still be able to choose a six-speed manual or PDK for both vehicles.
Ironically, the previous generation of GT3 Touring was just a matter of hands. That unmistakable sound you hear is all the Angeles Crest 911 Blowhard angrily Googling “the closest seller of the Nevada porsche.”
Interestingly, all of this is related to the California audio regulation that the GT3 manual apparently violates but automatically does not. When asked why the car booking is probably much higher than the one that worked with PDK, a Porsche spokesman told The Drive that he was still not sure if the problem was with the GT3 manual transmission, which makes more sense or that this is because .
He also pointed out that California’s ban on the GT3 manual is a relatively recent development and that the reasonable law in question is currently being reviewed, a process the company hopes will be completed soon. It is not surprising at all to recall 70 percent of the previous gen3 buyers in the U.S. They have chosen these three steps.
In any case, here is the official automaker’s official statement on the matter:
“We are looking forward to arriving, and we are preparing for the arrival of the new American 911 GT3, now including the Travel Package. Before any new model arrives in our market, we confirm what options we can offer in each province, and can adjust the range of options accordingly. will be the only transfer offered for sale in California on the 911 GT3. For those who like three pedestals and available outside California, the fast-moving manual gearbox will continue to be available at no additional cost. The first US delivery of the new 911 GT3 begins in the fall -2022.
We strive to offer as many choices as possible to meet and, hopefully, will exceed the expectations of our customers – and this extends to our most focused model, the 911 GT3, which offers a greater range of personalization options than ever before. At the same time we must fully adopt and respect national and local guidelines in every market – not only in the U.S. but also globally.
Unfortunately, this restricts the option of a manual gearbox on the 911 GT3 in the state of California due to reasonable regulation in the renewal plans. We were waiting for the regulation to be updated at launch, but this process is not yet complete. The seven-speed PDK option has received a full certificate. The replacement gearbox will continue to be offered in all states outside of California.
We cannot confirm whether the 911 GT3 replacement gearbox will be offered in California in the future, but its transfer will not be available in the 2022 year car. “
No matter which gearbox you choose (or don’t choose) to specify, the new Touring has the same condition as the last one. All active gears of the 911 GT3 except the main wing, for those looking for a performance of the 911 Porsche track set with very low displays. It is charged as a cost option on the GT3 which replaces the bar table with a very small spoiler that automatically automatically speeds up.
The Traveling package comes with a separate grille and anodized aluminum side window trim. After that, it replaces the black grille around the standard GT3 of the body type instead. Inside, there is a more graceful use of leather while lining and the tops of door cards include special area coverings.
