Call it quits – flying reptiles, reptiles, dinosaurs – ancient reptiles have always been the focus of the Frontier Development dinosaur theme park, as you can count on a game called Jurassic World Evolution. Well, flying reptiles and reptiles are not dinosaurs, but all species are featured in Jurassic World Evolution 2. The successive sequel to the 2018 exit focuses on improvements in all areas that keep your park residents safe, happy, and most importantly, contained within their confines.
Speaking to the game’s director, Rich Newbold, and co-ordinator, Adam Woods, said the team has four core areas where the following will make major improvements, from improved park architecture, deep management to both dinosaurs and visitors, rich narratives, and – More dinosaurs (and reptiles) than ever before – more than 75 species in total. The full game will have four different game modes on launch, including a campaign that will provide a real story set after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom events, as well as a new Chaos Theory mode that will allow you to play important events from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films with exciting ‘ ‘. There will be Challenge and Sandbox modes coming back from the first game as well.
While the improved campaign is certainly focused on Frontier, there will be consistent development applied to all four of those approaches. Woods and Newbold drove me through a sandbox-built park in the new Tiger Environment seen in the Jurassic World Evolution 2 trailers released so far, coming complete with extreme mountain planning and terrifying snowstorm events. The most impressive immediate effect is the changes made to the dinosaurs themselves – the rated stars of the game.

The dinosaurs themselves found improved behaviors, allowing them to closely mimic what we thought they were doing in the wild, including relaxing and preparing, interacting with each other, or having the opportunity to hunt for a pack if that was natural. You will be able to unlock body color variations and patterns, which will allow you to create very different dinosaurs, or make their tags blend in with the environment.
Apart from this, the way your dinosaurs interact with their enclosures is also very involved. When you first pull out an embedded dinosaur from the Hammond Creation Lab (now hatched in a group of eggs and can be released in batches instead of working alone), they will begin to kick their environment, looking for things they know they need – such as food, water, forest areas, or a new Ground Fiber element.
From this first wander, your dinosaurs will then digitally begin to paint a powerful space – a place of confinement that they will see as their place, which will improve over time. The various types of spaces within a single fenced area will come together and complement each other, allowing you to combine these creatures into a beautiful display for your guests.
For edible plants, paleobotany is a driving force in these dynamic terrain, and is a feature that is included in the basic game Jurassic World Evolution 2, following its launch at Claire’s Sanctuary DLC. Paleobotany is all about the nutrients that your dinosaur needs to stay healthy, and Jurassic World Evolution 2 removes the common vegetarians, and instead encourages you to plant trees and shrubs that provide the right food for each of your dinosaur species – no matter what. Ground Fiber, Fall Tall, Ground Nut, or anything else altogether. The development team has taken these active natural brushes straight from obsolete plants from prehistoric times, to consider how the country’s paint tools work in the game.
The result is that closed spaces look and feel very plentiful, where players are able to create tiny biomes within a single space to meet those global needs. The first game may feel a little repetitive with the way you have built forests and wetlands, but now there seems to be a lot of ingenuity in how you take care of the creature’s happiness. That includes the properties of the various areas of your confinement as well, so it ultimately extends beyond local paint and servers.
That customization comes down to how you enhance your guest experience too, not just because you can put decorations in your park to enhance the look. In line with the needs of essentials such as food, water, toilets, and gift shops, visitors will now fall into one of four interest groups. There are those who just fall under the category of “normal” interests, but there are also those who want fun, nature and luxury. Various areas of your park can be tailored to satisfy those interests.
For example, nature-focused visitors will be drawn to livestock pens, while those who want to have fun will do your T-Rex for the first line. Now, you will be able to select and make your services better for visitors to different sections of your park.
Resources are mainly a type of structure that can be customized internally and externally. The amenity can be adjusted to add interior modules, such as the aquarium, display cabinets, infotainment, orthopedic display, and more – all with prices that match these guest interests. Outside, the modules you add will not, unfortunately, be displayed, but there are ways to change the look and feel of your architecture. You can change the ceiling decorations, signs, entrances, add theme decoration to the floor, or change the paint function. It will be much easier to make the themes of your park feel unique, and move away from the specially designed facilities for the first game.
The new attractive buildings are paired with amenities such as shells, and offer some types of construction such as a fully stocked aquarium that should add variety to your park. It will be fun to be able to spend as much time making your guests happy as you love your dinosaurs. It certainly was something that sounded very unattractive in the first game, so it’s nice to see that the entire park construction experience is being considered. And of course, happy guests mean happy bags, which means you’ll have more fun dinosaurs. Victory, victory.
Management development doesn’t end there, with Jurassic World Evolution 2 adding more tools and an additional type of land group. That will mean you have to work hard to understand your citizens. For existing monitors, you can now place Ranger Posts within confined spaces and assign a group of monitors to your posts. This will allow you to build a security guard line, and the attackers passing by will scan the dinosaurs for the area. Instead of being quickly discovered, information on dinos now has a fog of war effect on it, and your guards will have to go out and check the situation to see why the dino might be unhappy.
However, in order to cure your dinos or cure them, you will need to send your new mobile vet units from the Paleo Medical Facility, a new addition to this series. Pets can be dispatched after the problem has been reported by rangers, and can help in the field, or return dinosaurs to the Paleo Medical Facility for treatment.
While you will need to get the help of your strikers, what I really like about what I have seen so far with Jurassic World Evolution 2 is health improvement. The details are compiled in the best possible way, which means you don’t have to click between menus to paint a wooded area, and then go back to your dinosaur to see if you have added enough to make them happy.
It’s all in one place now, so adding trees increases the dino’s satisfaction in one menu – it’s just a few tweaks to this perfect, but necessary. So far, this is all you have been trying to get started, but most of all. Lots of dinosaurs and reptiles, many management options with deep tools, improved customization, and, most importantly, more opportunities to interact with the dinosaurs themselves.
