Cyberpunk 2077 Returning to Sony PlayStation

The troubled game Cyberpunk 2077 will return to PlayStation stores from next week, Sony confirmed on Wednesday, six months after being bitten by bugs and compliance issues.

The game with dystopian themes was reportedly the most expensive ever made and its release was highly anticipated, but the release was focused on problems.

In December 2020, Sony said it was pulling the game out of PlayStation stores worldwide citing “customer satisfaction” after numerous complaints about problems and health risks.

But a legal release by the game’s creator, CD Projekt Red, on Tuesday said Sony Interactive Entertainment “will restore the availability of the digital publisher of Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation store, from June 21, 2021.”

In a statement Wednesday, Sony confirmed that the match would be repeated this month.

However, it warns that there may be problems with the theme when playing on PlayStation 4 consoles.

“Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms,” Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) said.

“SIE recommends playing the theme on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience,” he added.

The title of the game, which has also been released on Xbox One and PCs, has become the most popular on CD Projekt Red, with the club president saying its launch has been a “great lesson”.

The company released a series of clips dealing with various problems and was forced to add health warnings after one reviewer complained that the game had caused epileptic seizures.

“This has been a great lesson for us, which we will never forget – but I believe now is the time to look to the future,” said CD Projekt Group president Adam Kicinski in April as he reviewed the company’s operations in 2020.

“We are always aspiring to excellence and are committed to bringing Cyberpunk to a level where everyone will be able to fully enjoy the game, no matter what the stadium,” he added, according to the company’s website.

Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay

Cyberpunk 2077 is played with a first-person perspective such as V, a voice manager whose name, face, hair styles, body type and transformation, background, and clothing are customized. Stat categories – Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool – are influenced by the categories of characters that the players take on, namely NetRunner (hacking), Techie (machines), and Solo (fighting). V must contact “ripperdoc” to upgrade and purchase cyberware installations; black markets offer military-level skills. Availability of any provided equipment is indicated by the color category system.

The V can take cover, aim, run, jump, double jump, and slide. Melee’s strikes can be handled with close-knit arms. There are three types of weapons on display, all of which can be customized and modified – Power (standard), Tech (penetrating walls and enemies), and Smart (with homing characters). Suspended weapons are equipped to attach bullets to the side of the target and reduce them during the ammunition. Four types of damage can be caused and resisted – Physical, Thermal, EMP, and Chemical. The use of weapons increases the accuracy and reloading speed, which is reflected in the animation of the bullets. Gunmakers repair and upgrade weapons. The game can be completed without killing anyone, with non-lethal options of weapons and cyberwar.

The open-air city of Night City, California, consists of six counties – the corporate City Center, the immigrant town of Watson, the luxurious Westbrook, the town of Heywood, the criminal Pacific, and the industrial Santo Domingo. Its surrounding area, Badlands, can also be explored. UV roams these areas on foot and in cars, under third or first-person views. Pedestrians are at risk of a head-on collision.

Depending on the location, law enforcement agencies may be warned if V commits a crime. Radio stations are available for listening. The full day-to-night cycle and extreme weather affect the way non-actor characters (NPCs) behave. UV has a flat and a garage. Night City has non-English characters, the languages of which can be translated with special insertion. “Braindance” is a device that allows the V to deal with other people’s experiences.

Branch discussions allow for communication with NPCs and actions on demand. Experience points are derived from high demands and provide statistics; third-party demands generate “street debt”, opening skills, vendors, locations, and additional requirements. Demands are available for characters known as Fixers. Throughout the game, V is assisted by various friends. Consumption items, such as cold drinks, are used for treatment, and items can be tested in a V-list. Minigames include hacking, boxing, car racing, martial arts, and shooting lists.
